Mộc Hi Coffee & Dimsum

Moc Hi Coffee is an F&B project located at an intersection on a major street in Da Nang, occupying a 230 m² corner lot with two street frontages. To achieve strong identity and visual appeal, the design team chose a semi-transparent envelope solution that expresses the vibrant daily life of a space requiring constant activity. Unlike fully transparent glass, this outer layer helps filter harsh summer radiation while still capturing gentle winter sunlight—allowing the building to subtly blend into the daytime sky and glow brilliantly at night. Inside this envelope are two distinct spaces on the first and second floors, each serving different functions. They are connected by a vertical circulation axis—an outdoor staircase located in the garden—allowing visitors to move between levels while enjoying views of the architecture and the lively city beyond. Despite being separated in elevation, these two spaces remain visually and spatially connected through an internal skylight system, creating a continuous flow of natural vitality throughout the building. The idea of maximizing connections—between inside and outside, above and below—is the core design philosophy the team sought to embed in this project, and also serves as a statement of ZEN team's ongoing creative spirit.
