Behind Ola Ola — a premium European restaurant in Vung Tau — is a team of familiar and highly accomplished figures in Vietnam’s culinary industry. Chef Sakal Phoeung — President of the Escoffier Association Vietnam and currently Ola Ola’s Executive Culinary Advisor. With more than 22 years of experience in the culinary industry, Chef Sakal has held executive chef positions at five-star hotels such as Sofitel and within the Accor Group. He has also achieved top honours in prestigious competitions, including Iron Chef Vietnam and the MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge. As a pioneer in blending the refinement of French cuisine with Asian inspiration, Chef Sakal continuously explores new creative approaches to deliver sophisticated and memorable culinary experiences. Joining Chef Sakal in bringing premium European cuisine to Vung Tau is Executive Chef Vũ Xuân Trường — winner of the Escoffier Trophy Vietnam 2018, who led Team Vietnam at the International Catering Cup (ICC) 2023 in Lyon, France, where the team received the prestigious “Best Desserts Coffee Gourmet” award.
