Urban Sparkle for Hokkaido Sachi Restaurant Thao Dien

Takashi Niwa Architects

Best F&B Design

Urban Sparkle transforms a restaurant site in Ho Chi Minh City into a luminous urban beacon through an origami-inspired steel roof that captures and refracts light throughout the day. Located along a 30-meter street frontage in Thao Dien, the project sits directly in front of Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1 while surrounded by high-rise residential towers. This creates a unique visibility condition where the building is viewed from three distinct elevations — street level, passing trains, and tower windows above. For the client, this represented their first ground-up development project and an opportunity to establish their flagship Japanese restaurant as a regional landmark. In Vietnamese culture, restaurants hold particular significance as places of celebration — for birthdays, anniversaries, and cherished moments. The challenge lay in creating architecture that could command attention from multiple vantage points while subtly conveying Japanese identity and accommodating diverse programs within Vietnam’s tropical climate and budget constraints. The landscape approach was envisioned as a venue for weekend performances.

Sabi Sky Omakase

Sawadeesign

Best F&B Design

Sabi Omakase Restaurant is located on the 25th floor of Centec Tower in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, offering an elevated panoramic view of the urban landscape. Against this backdrop, we created a sky omakase model called Sabi, where the dining and spatial experience is elevated to a new conceptual level. The core design concept originates from Kuro-shari — the soul of Sabi — in which the rice is seasoned with long-aged black vinegar made from brown rice and blended with binchotan charcoal powder, an activated charcoal known for its ability to purify impurities and heavy metals in seafood. This spirit is translated into a space enveloped in mysterious black tones, extending from the entrance pathway to the main dining room, creating an atmosphere of stillness, focus, and refinement. The main layout is organized through concentric curves inspired directly by the form of binchotan charcoal, guiding movement in a gentle and continuous flow. The highlight material is carved wood finished with natural black oil, evoking the raw texture of black charcoal and completing a space that is contemplative, minimalist, and deeply rooted in the philosophy of omakase cuisine.

Pizza 4P's Lotte Mall West Lake

ODDO architects

Best F&B Design

With Hanoi undergoing rapid and increasingly dense urbanization, opportunities for everyday encounters with nature are becoming progressively scarce. This project emerges as a response to that growing disconnect, seeking to re-establish a tactile relationship between earth and people through an experiential and interactive spatial design intervention. Rooted in the use of traditional materials and vernacular construction techniques, this project foregrounds the knowledge and craftsmanship of local artisans, allowing material culture to become both narrative and experience. By integrating recycled elements and locally sourced resources, the project extends beyond aesthetics to actively communicate sustainable ways of living and making.

Gameloft Saigon Office

Vacons

Best Office Space Design

Richmond City is located right on the frontage of Nguyen Xi Street, a potential road planned to be expanded to 30m and, in the future, will easily connect to Metro Line 3B. In particular, after the renovation of the Xuyen Tam canal system within the project area, the natural landscape here will become even fresher and more beautiful, similar to Hoang Sa and Truong Sa streets, while also creating many additional open roads. From Richmond City, it takes only about 10 minutes to reach District 1 and less than 1 minute to access Pham Van Dong Avenue, allowing quick connections to other key neighboring districts. At the same time, the project is situated within an established residential area with vibrant commercial activity, offering a comprehensive and diverse range of nearby amenities.

New Tashkent Contemporary Art Center

VHL Architecture Co., Ltd

Best Cultural & Educational & Healthcare Architecture Design

The New Tashkent Contemporary Art Center redefines cultural architecture through climate-driven form and spatial continuity. Rather than adopting a monumental object, the project emerges from environmental performance data specific to Tashkent’s continental climate. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis shaped the aerodynamic roof geometry, reducing wind pressure and improving pedestrian-level comfort, while solar studies informed canopy depth and curvature to enable passive seasonal regulation.

The living spaces are thoughtfully arranged beneath and around a shared skylight courtyard, where natural light and fresh air intertwine, fostering a profound connection between people and nature. Surrounded by greenery and water, the space feels both secluded and serene, offering a peaceful atmosphere deeply connected to the natural environment.

Sand Dune Retreat

H2 Architects

Best Hospitality Design

“SAND DUNE RETREAT” is the heart of the Ninh Phước Resort project — a defining highlight of contemporary resort architecture in Ninh Phước Bay. Guided by the philosophy that “Nature shapes the architecture,” this pavilion is conceived as an organic sculptural work where the boundary between people and the native ecosystem is completely dissolved. Beneath the soaring bamboo structure and natural thatched roof made from guột leaves, we “reimagined” raw materials such as bamboo, thatch, natural stone, and unfinished walls through an organic design language. The project seamlessly integrates Reception, Dining, and Wellness Therapy functions into a single open volume, optimizing natural ventilation to minimize its carbon footprint. Every detail — from the handcrafted carved stone bar to the private therapy spaces — is designed with one ultimate purpose: healing the Body, Mind, and Spirit. SAND DUNE RETREAT is not merely a destination, but a symbol of sustainability — where architecture becomes the breath of the ocean and a living legacy for the future.

Bellerive Hoi An Hotel & Spa

AVA Architects

Best Hospitality Design

Located in Hoi An, 6.1 km from the Chaozhou Assembly Hall, Bellerive Resort — a project under The Calico — enjoys a prime setting with four sides adjacent to traffic routes and its eastern edge facing the Đế Võng River. The resort embraces the expansive and striking landscape of an ecological retreat built on an 8,700m² site, shaped by the hot and humid tropical climate characteristic of Hoi An Ancient Town. Viewed from above, Bellerive is divided into two distinct blocks, including a six-storey hotel with 178 rooms and a luxury villa zone featuring 2–3 bedroom villas, each equipped with a private swimming pool. Through a contemporary architectural approach combined with inspiration drawn from Hoi An’s river heritage, Bellerive captures the distinctive spirit of Vietnam’s central coastal region, evoking the image of rustic fishing villages and simple boats drifting along the poetic Hoai River.

Ke Ga Villa

T3 Architects

Best Residential Design

KeGa Villa is a private weekend retreat designed by T3 Architects, located in the rural landscape of Ke Ga, Vietnam, between the sea and a national park. Conceived as a place for a large family and visiting friends, the project seeks to balance communal living with privacy, while responding carefully to the local climate and natural surroundings. The project is organized into a two-storey main villa and three independent bungalows. The family bedrooms are located on the upper level of the main house, with two connected rooms for the kids and a master suite for the couple, while the ground floor is dedicated to shared living spaces that open directly to the garden and swimming pool. This clear vertical separation allows daily life to unfold openly at ground floor as a social level, while preserving privacy and elevated views at the level above.

Maive's Hill

PAK Architects

Best Residential Design

Nestled on the gentle slopes of a hill in Vietnam’s Northwestern midland region, quietly sheltered beneath the tree canopy, Maive’s Hill is conceived as a retreat defined by a journey of experiencing nature. The project seeks to create a place where people can step away from the noisy rhythm of urban life, embracing stillness and balance. To achieve this, a modern architectural language is adopted—restrained and minimal—yet never detached from its natural surroundings. The house is composed of two primary volumes crowned with bold sloping roofs, wrapped in a calm, dark-toned material palette that creates a subtle contrast with the surrounding greenery. From within, expansive glazed openings extend the visual horizon, allowing the mountains and forest to become an integral part of everyday living. Architecture here acts as a backdrop for nature. Layers of open spaces, a terrain-following swimming pool, climbing plants, and lush vegetation envelop the building, enabling it to merge seamlessly with the local landscape rather than imposing itself upon it.

Tieu Phuong Villa

Kavila Architecture

Best Residential Design

Tieu Phuong Villa is a testament to solidity — calm yet full of character. Like a subtle low note, the house still stands out within the green, clean, and open environment of the FPT City ecological urban area. Benefiting from a three-frontage site, we focused on the arrangement of space, light, materials, and movement. The design is distinguished by a precisely refined and orderly symmetrical composition. Every line is intentionally placed, creating depth and a subtle transition between layers of interior and exterior spaces. The wide overhanging pitched roof draws inspiration from the spirit of traditional Vietnamese tropical architecture, combined with an exposed timber truss-and-purlin structure that references traditional wooden construction while being simplified through a contemporary lens. Extending 2.2 meters outward, the roof system not only effectively provides shade and protection from rain, but also becomes a symbol of the intersection between Vietnamese identity and modernity within the project.

The Forest Mirror

X-Lab Architectural Research

Best Residential Design

Context & Inspiration: Nature as the Protagonist Yakushima was the first site in Japan to be registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 1993. Its landscape, harboring memories of ancient times, is as mystical as a scene from a movie. If this island were a story, the protagonist would undoubtedly be “Nature” itself. The concept of “Forest Mirror Image” was born from a profound reverence for this majestic wilderness. Here, architecture is nothing more than a “stage” or a “mirror” for nature to reflect and perform. Humans step back, becoming silent spectators gazing upon the beauty of natural form.

In 2025, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam inaugurated its largest factory in the country, a 19-hectare facility with an annual capacity of 1 billion liters and the first F&B factory in Vietnam to achieve LEED Gold certification. To mark the milestone, an experience space was created inside the factory to present the brand’s journey. The Lab collaborated with the Coca-Cola team to design an exhibition within an active production site, inspired by the iconic Coca-Cola ribbon linking brand heritage with ongoing innovation in beverage production. In October 2025, the design was officially verified and recognized as the “Largest artwork in Vietnam made from Coca-Cola 300ml packaging using 100% recycled plastic (rPET),” witnessed by the Vietnam Records Organization, the leadership of Coca-Cola Vietnam, The Lab Saigon as design consultant, and other related stakeholders.

Setia Edenia

Best Public Space Design

Setia Edenia is thoughtfully positioned within the lush greenery and mature landscape of the EcoXuân Lái Thiêu township. Inspired by the idea of an “urban garden of paradise,” the design seeks to strengthen the visual and experiential connection between people and nature through open, well-ventilated, and emotionally engaging spaces. The interior design of the three main lobbies — Azalea, Begonia, and Camellia — follows the concept of “Three Seasons”: Spring, Summer, and Autumn. This approach not only establishes a distinct identity for each tower but also creates a continuous journey of spatial experience shaped by materiality, color, and light.

Best Commercial Design

SONO is an interior design project for a hair salon located in a quiet area of Ho Chi Minh City. The name “SONO” means garden in Japanese, aligning with the design approach of evoking exterior space through minimal elements. Without altering the existing white walls, a new artificial and topographic “wall” is introduced as the primary spatial element running through both floors of the maisonette. Within the naturally lit interior, the form of this “wall” creates gradations of dwelling throughout the space, with each functional area arranged in accordance with its shape.

FPT Campus Hanoi

Van Aelst - Nguyen & Partners

Best Commercial Design

FPT Campus Phase 2 is conceived as a critical evolution of the approved 1/500 masterplan—an architectural and landscape strategy that transforms two distinct entities, the “Diamond” and the “Comb,” into a unified and future-ready campus. While the original scheme endowed each building with a strong individual identity, their relationship remained fragmented. This project addresses that gap, not by erasing difference, but by fostering dialogue—reframing the campus as a coherent organism rather than a collection of adjacent forms.
